As a parent, divorce is the most challenging situation ever. When I was younger, I, too, felt that circumstance with my parents. I had hoped it would never happen with my children. When my husband decided he wanted a divorce, I promised myself that I would always keep my children at peace. Sure, they did not like their parents split, but they could always count on each side to show infinite understanding.

I find that in a modern age, schools tend to forget that children’s lives become torn asunder, and projects for a holiday are often the most challenging. My youngest daughter, Elizabeth, inspired me to write a book for school projects and divorced families about how a child might rise above emotional turmoil by rethinking it innovatively so no parent felt left out on holiday gifts projects.
